DWC 062: Loving After Divorce with Dilia Jelen

LISTEN ON: Spotify & Apple

When Dilia Jelen and her former husband split many were left confused and in the dark. The two were publicly known in New York City for the work they did together to provide education, healing, and love to children of abuse, extreme poverty, and human trafficking.

Dilia was the Director of Marketing and a full-time volunteer. Her ex-husband, the founder. They supported over 13,000 kids in 29 countries, including the United States.

To Christina, they were relationship role models. Feminine Weapon Day, an initiative dedicated to 'battling the ills of the world through love' which Christina began in 2014, has raised over $75,000 for the children the couple once served together. Their breakup was reality-shaking.

The divorce left Dilia without money and in depression. Now, having done work to heal herself, Dilia is ready to get back to the children, entrusting Christina and the listeners of this podcast with her story.

Dilia, now newly married to a loving partner, is the founder of ARTEAMOR, a 501c3 that brings art, healing, and transformational workshops to the children she began serving over a decade ago. Together, through Feminine Weapon Day on January 30th, Christina and a tribe of loving humans will raise funds for ARTEAMOR to provide children with Relationship Skills and Workshops like those featured on wedeepen.com (redesigned for kids).

025: 9th Annual Feminine Weapon Day, Sacred Sexuality & Shibari

LISTEN ON: Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and iHeartRadio

The 9th Annual Feminine Weapon Day benefit took place at a mystical home in downtown Los Angeles. Since 2014, people have been gathering on January 30th to honor the power of femininity and co-creation, in benefit of children who are in need of care.

Limited to just 50 people, the sold-out event was a one-night-only interactive theater, “The Space Between Stories.”

The raved-about evening began with the group watching the sunset on a rooftop overlooking the city while two World Cup Winning fencers spared to music playing from a rare instrument called, the Ambox. If that wasn't enough to inspire chatter, magician Chad Nelson made his rounds for an extra later of wow.

At dusk, participants were guided through a mysterious silver door and into a whimsical world where ceremony and art came to life. Already connected through shared experience, people further bonded over heartfelt performances, a one-of-a-kind auction, and delicious food by Top Vegan Chef, Nicole Derseweh. No nobody objected to the event being booze-free. What touched every heart was a fireside chat with Christina and the executive director of She Ready Foundation, Dr. Thyonne Gordon. The group learned about issues with the foster care system, and how they can help ease the pain so many children experience on a daily basis. Proceeds from Feminine Weapon Day benefit at-risk youth and children in underserved communities to receive Art & Healing programs, like the ones WeDeepen presents for grownups, adjusted for kids.

At the time of this recording, the 9th Annual event raised $8K for the She Ready Foundation from ticket sales, donations, and the auction. In total and through the years, Feminine Weapon Day has raised over $73,000.

In this podcast WeDeepen guide, Amber J and Christina recap Feminine Weapon Day. After they recap, Amber J reflects on the time that she contracted a "Shibari Shaman" to live with her for a month. It's an experience she said offered her healing, understanding, and preparation for meeting her King.

While listening notice the feelings and thoughts that arise. If inspired, email feedback to team@wedeepen.com. We'd love to hear if and how you resonate or not.
